Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

For real.

Life isn't life without suffering ey. Still makes me feel proud that we were born in the 21st century, where Vikings don't exist, and things are (for the most part)... peaceful.

BrokenByHer • 1 year ago

Peaceful ? Ever visited Palestine ?

Israeli Zionists are no less than modern Vikings

Dxu145 • 1 year ago

False, just shows that u haven't visited

shoyu • 1 year ago

Zionists = Nazis

BrokenByHer • 5 months ago

I hope one drop on you as well. Ignorant piece of shit.

You see what's happening ?

Dxu145 • 5 months ago

Well yeah i do see, I live here for the past 27 years.
And not only that you show how ignorant you are, you are rude too.

Ghost544YT • 4 months ago

Honestly don’t care, plus the original commenter said for the most part peaceful, of course there will be conflict, it’s human nature.

iiTevxnho • 2 days ago

not caring is wild

conflict ? you fucking genocidal maniac

So your only comeback was to call me a name, you just proved me right...

In the end both sides of Israel and Palestine people suffer. No one wins in a war, except for weapons suppliers. Which is why I'd rather the US not cause any more trouble or be the instigator. Like it doesn't even make any sense that US and Afghanistan were allies in the beginning before all this fall out. Hopefully things will change for the better someday, even if I may not live to see it.

Himura_Kenshin • 1 year ago

Yeah, one side gets occasional scare, see rockets get destroyed by iron dome; the other forced out of their homes, lands, bullied, arrested, tortured, mutilated, killed every year. Every Ramadan is the same.

BrokenByHer • 5 months ago

No, israelis are the settlers and occupiers, they have no rights.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Okay, I agree.

Thanks for your comment.

The supreme one • 1 year ago

While i enjoy ghr emphasy and the effort the put into the tragic consequences of war and the whole bitterness.. i do kinda want some fight or at least some tension…. So far it has only been farming and mourning…. But since it has 20+ ep i reckon the action will start from now… hope it gets 🔥

Sri Ram • 1 year ago

That would defeat the purpose of the show i'm afraid. The show was always about anti-war ever since s1. The author has confirmed this in an interview with gigguk (youtuber).

Goblin-Slayer • 1 year ago

How is learning how to water crops “anti-war”? What does farming have to do with stopping people from slaughtering one another? The purpose of the show has been defeated lol. “Let me sprinkle a How-to-Farm-for-Dummies season in the middle of my blood-thirsty Vikings show so my viewers know war is bad.”

You can have action and still be “anti-war”. You don’t have to create the slowest, dullest, most uneventful arc known to man because “war bad”. We got a whole new opening and Thorfinn is still the exact same “people die when they are killed” character 🤣.

Instead of giving us an entire movie about Thanos living peacefully and tending to his farm after he snapped half the galaxy, they started off the movie with him losing his head 😂. There’s a reason for that. I’m so tired of seeing everyone over-glorify this soap opera of a season as a masterpiece in story telling and character development when it’s literally the equivalent of a Boruto filler arc.

Imagine if Toryiama made Dragon Ball: F (farm) to teach us that fighting is bad. It’d be hated.

KuraiShinimi • 1 year ago

Farming represents Peace and Growth if men come together they can grow things and prosper instead of raiding and pillaging the show has a lot of Symbolism and Heavy Quotes in a few episodes. Its character development that the MC is going through you wouldn’t possibly be able to comprehend due to having Goblin Slayer as your user and pfp the plot is as linear as Slaying Goblins that rape and do bad things.. Thorfinn isn’t the same character he grew as a character in S2 he felt like his life had 0 meaning when Snakes men were slicing at him. He knew living Amounted to suffering he then found atonement with himself in wanting to achieve a world of peace for the suffering he caused on to others. A story requires build up instead of typical Training arcs where characters battle one another and get strong this series has always focused more on story telling. Tho I don’t think anyone expected much from a GS fan.

Armis • 1 year ago

^This. It's literally destroying vs creating something from nothing. To help others find a home where they can live out their days peacefully.

Druid1 • 1 year ago

I don't necessarily mind Farmland Saga, but care to enlighten me on what happened during this episode? Nothing. We were already at this point at the end of the last episode.

Room 34 of the Internet. • 1 year ago

True... That's my problem with this season... It's been a repetition of the same thing. There hasn't even been that much character development for Thorfinn. I don't think people want fighting or action, I think people want change.

TheDarkOverlord • 1 year ago

Remind me when this anime was supposed to be slice of life. Nothing wrong with being a Goblin Slayer fan either. There was plenty character development there as well without dulling the show. And there was QUITE a bit of symbolism there as well but if you couldn't see it, that's on you.

You putting emphasis on "being a GS fan" and "anyone expecting much from a GS fan" only shows how inconsiderate you are of others opinions and invaliding them because of your ego. Your opinion isn't worth anything either to action lovers which is the audience that the first season of Vinland Saga captured. This season is undoubtedly boring as shit. I'd honestly watch Slice of Life over this anytime. The only reason i keep going while scratching my eyes is hoping something happens. I'm still waiting for Canute to come and invade so shit gets down.

"Oh nooo, i killed hundreds of men in my quest for revenge, i will atone by growing more wheat than i trampled." F- off, respectfully. You couldn't have more of a eunuch than Thorfinn as an MC even if you tried. The amount of missing testosterone is in the league of life debt (and ironically, the raw testosterone is the reason why viking culture is so attractive). Like i've said to a few other people the last couple episodes, if the Vikings series was all about Ragnar Lothbrok farming wheat and Agartha moisturizing his hands so he doesn't get blisters, they would've flopped massively. When people see vikings, people expect action. There's no point in tying yourself to a warrior culture that pillages and rapes throughout their whole history, only to go into farming arcs.

That being said, let's take My Hero Academia as another example. If you made a show about heroes and villains, and just made everyone learn academics in school because "villains are bad" the show wouldnt have run for as many seasons as it did, nor would it have become as popular as it has. It wouldve been a regular highschool slice of life which is nothing else other than boring to people who enjoy ACTION, who watched Vinland Saga because of the ACTION in season 1, and kept watching expecting more ACTION in season 2.

Imagine if records of Ragnarok which is literally about humans fighting gods for the sake of humanity's existence suddenly flopped after Zeus defeated Adam simply because he wanted to vent.

Imagine if Baki would've gone and led a normal life simply because "IT'S BAD TO TALK BACK OR GO AGAINST YOUR PARENTS" You'd end the show after a few episodes because then it wouldn't be what the audience expected. That's precisely how you run a show in the ground.

KuraiShinimi • 1 year ago

Remind me what genres this anime is because it doesn’t have that SOL genre and you’re just spewing ignorance because there’s no action and this season is mainly focused on development. Wrong I’ve seen GS and the development is literally Kill goblins because they rape people and do bad things and GS has a grudge because they did bad things. Those characters don’t even have a name as they’re known as just Goblin Slayer, Elf, Lizardman, & Dwarf.. this series clearly is more than just Vikings Raid and rape and do bad things I wouldn’t necessarily put it against him as I do agree with you on development and symbolism but it’s weak in comparison to VS. you then proceeded to come at me about my "Ego” and invalid him when the guy you literally are trying to defend has a ego coming at another person for saying as I quote * How is learning how to water crops “anti-war”? What does farming have to do with stopping people from slaughtering one another? The purpose of the show has been defeated lol. “Let me sprinkle a How-to-Farm-for-Dummies season in the middle of my blood-thirsty Vikings show so my viewers know war is bad.”* My opinion didn’t mean shit to action lovers because you’re not satisfied with the current action state of the show which is oh wait their opinion. “This season is undoubtedly boring as shit. I'd honestly watch Slice of Life over this anytime. The only reason i keep going while scratching my eyes is hoping something happens. I'm still waiting for Canute to come and invade so shit gets down.” Your action only Opinion don’t mean shit here to those that actually want a good deeper story than just action = development. You mentioned my hero when this is a seinen anime. I think you got your genres mixed this isn’t a battle manga so y even compare battle = development to a damn Viking show. Good you know Netflix animes go watch The Last Kingdom that’s literally the best comparison to Vinland Saga for me. MC goes through similar stuff as Thorfinn. My last confused thing about you is that you’re calling me out for GS but you keep attacking the Slice of life genre like it’s bad. There’s a few action slice of life’s that actually are really good if you only care about action, however don’t act like slice of life or series without action can’t have solid plots or actually be good. Oshi no Ko is literally #1 on Mal atm an that’s not even a action anime with a decent plot so far.

naliux • 1 year ago

You are still here, why? Isn't the show on the ground, yet, according to your descriptions?

I keep hoping like an idiot.

goblin slayer fans are meat heads. modern day barbarians

Dark Blood • 1 year ago

People really cant respect/understand 'character develpoment'.
If you want action without context go read Solo Leveling. It has action without actual story.

TheDarkOverlord • 1 year ago

We can respect it and understand it when it's done right and according to the tone the previous season set. Dulling your own show to boredom for the sake of character development (which can be done btw alongside action) isn't respectable in any way.

"If you want action without context go read Solo Leveling. It has action without actual story."

If you want day by day activities of the masses without any action go watch Slice of Life. This is the equivalent of what i quoted.

Dark Blood • 1 year ago

I want a cool story with great character develpoment. That's Vinlanad Saga. I didn't think of the current season as a boring one, I also read the manga before even S1 and loved it too. You said ruining the tune of the previous season, though take for according that it's focus wasn't action battle from the start, but his life and how it follows his father. It showed it from the first ep and how his father talked to him and how he is becoming closer to what his father is. Hasn't his father gone through the same thing? Battles and deaths, until he left all of it. Though I don't think he has gone through slavery.

Retad • 1 year ago

Gotta love seeing these brain dead action fans seething over Vinland S2 on all platforms lol

I think you missed the point of the show, some people get hooked from the action in season 1 only to find disappointment in season 2 because that's not the appeal. The people here aren't calling those other shows bad, its more of what those shows seek to achieve. SL is pure hype, nothing much more than that. Its a means to make you feel good, and it does that perfectly, making it extremely popular, i enjoy it alot too gets the adrenaline pumping. In GS, the tension is always high, there's degen plot points that makes your dick happy, and ofcourse action and fight scenes. Its not overly deep, it doesn't need to be, because its good without that as well. It merely shows darker plots then most animes cautiously avoid. That's it's genre and achievement and it also does it well. Vinland saga isn't that. It's immediate purpose isn't to fulfill your fantasy desires, neither to make you horny with a harem plot. It's a much deeper and powerful tone/motif and it delivers that through an amazingly grounded and well written story with some of the best character development known in mangas/anime. It's not something that everyone will understand and appreciate because people look for different things. You're too hyper focused on action that you miss out on crucial storytelling and character development, because of your desire to read the same plot of fantasy power over and over again. And there's nothing wrong with that consummation lol, its just that you won't be one of the people to ever be able to look past that and be pulled in by the message delivered here, something most of us take for granted in our world.

KuraiShinimi • 1 year ago

Couldn’t have said it any better than that lmao. Well said

naliux • 1 year ago

If someone created something you dislike, why don't you create your own freaking all out bloodied crap???
On another point, I still think Thanos is the good guy or ally least he tried to do the right thing.
